The first game in the Counter-Strike series had several unique and interesting maps. As the developers tried and tested new ideas, some of them could really test your skills. One of these was the 747, a map set on a passenger aircraft. In the article below, we discuss Counter Strike’s 747 map.
The 747 Map Overview
The Map 747 was available with the first Counter-Strike game in the series and its online form. It is one of the hostage rescue maps, in which five civilians have been taken.
One of the tougher maps, most of it is set inside a Boeing 747. This makes it a close-proximity battle, so close combat weapons such as shotguns and melee weapons are recommended. While flashbangs and smoke grenades can be useful, other explosives are not recommended as they can harm the hostages. You will also find snipers almost useless unless the hostages are camped outside the plane, which is very rare.
Strangely, a love-it-or-hate-it-map has not been revisited in the more modern updates. There is a renewed interest in aviation-themed games, both on PC, consoles, and mobile devices. In online casino games, crash gaming has reinvigorated the genre. This is where people must guess the path of a projectile, usually a plane, and win money before it crashes from the sky. You can play Aviator spribe game at most operators and in some instances, use bonuses to try it out without dipping into your bankroll.

There are three ways you can approach and enter the aircraft. There is a main entrance located at the base of the 747. The second is a tunnel connected to the CT spawn. A third entrance is located at the cockpit. Be aware that there are five hostages in total.
Night vision goggles are highly recommended for this map. Some parts of it are extremely dark.
There are quite a few camping spots on this map. Make sure you check them all.
Several curtains exist on the plane itself. You can shoot through these. Make sure you take advantage of this and use them for cover.
Counter-terrorists must escort hostages to the hostage rescue zones. These are located between the boxes at the main entrance and near the counter-terrorist spawn base. Both of these can be quite the trek and it is slow to get there. Therefore, many people prefer to play as the terrorists who just have to defend their positions.
Map Trivia and Development
The development of the map began in the fall of 1999. It was then worked on for about two months by other developers, who fleshed out parts other than the main aircraft. During this time, the plane engines were removed to improve playability.
It is the only map to have more than four hostages. This can make it quite challenging. Only four of them are shown on the HUD, and players must work out the location of the fifth themselves.
The map has lots of tricks and shortcuts that make navigating it easier. For example, there is a pipe that can function as a ladder. There is also a vent on the upper floors of the aircraft that lets you enter it and travel the whole length of the plane.
Using the cockpit entrance is also troublesome and needs to be executed perfectly. A player must jump off the building and through the windows, which inevitably causes damage. You can diminish the impact of this by shooting the windows while in midair.
Tactically, this is a very enjoyable map. There are a few glitches that can spoil it, but generally, it will make you think differently about your rescue missions. Try a few games and see how you fare.
